Since moving in to our modern open plan office space, we have focused more on our role in protecting the environment. We recycle at every available opportunity and promote a paperless office and paperless billing.
We promote best of breed technologies and are heavily involved in the area of Cloud Computing which reduces costs and energy. Cloud Computing facilitates remote working for both our employees and our customers, thereby reducing various emissions. Where possible we use the latest in Unified Communications and teleconferencing technologies to reduce unnecessary travelling to meetings.
Unity Technology Solutions believe strongly in Work/Life Balance and actively encourage our staff to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We make every effort to ensure a healthy work environment. Regular communications are sent to employees to inform them of small things they can do each day to assist them mind their health.
We are fortunate that our HQ office is located close to many Public transport links - Milltown and Windy Arbour Luas Stations are a short walk, as is the Stillorgan Quality Bus Corridor. Many employees walk, cycle or take public transport to work. A large amount of our staff have availed of the Governments Bike to Work Scheme.
The measure of Unity's Corporate & Social Responsibility mission is the commitment within our own business to educate our staff and our customers. We believe we can all make a difference, no matter how big or small the contribution.
Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind: A member of staff is heavily involved in training and fundraising for the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. The Management and staff at Unity help fundraise through coffee mornings and in December 2011; we actively support the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind 2012 calendar. Currently, Unity, a Labradoodle is with a puppy walker. In the coming months, she will be going to the Training Centre in Cork. Eventually, she will work as a guide dog for a blind or visually impaired person or as an assistance dog for a child with autism. Unity will be a life changing and an amazing companion for some person. Throughout 2012, we will continue to work with Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. Activities like these help to promote awareness among our staff and customers and raise funds for an extremely worthwhile and life-changing cause.
Irish Wheelchair Association: Twice a year we help fund raise for the IWA. We participate in the IWA Easter Egg & Christmas Appeal 2011 and raffle their beautifully presented baskets.
